Marti's Returns For Its First Modern Summer.

This is the first summer for the reborn Marti's. In case the story goes back farther than you do, Marti's was a trendsetting restaurant in the 1970s and 1980s. Later, the building became Peristyle, creating another legacy for the long-time dining room. Now it's operated by the owners of Gautreau's, and has all the style the old Marti's had, except three decades updated, and without the late Marti Shambra. Here's their inaugural Coolinary menu. Usual deal: three courses, $35, through August (but maybe available for a week or two in September). Arugula Salad
Lemon vinaigrette, shaved shallots, garlic croutons & pecorino romano
~or~

Chilled Heirloom Tomato Soup
Cucumber, sweet peppers & chile oil
~~~~~
Semolina Crusted Black Drum
Eggplant caponata, basil & roasted jalapeno beurre blanc
~or~
Pan Roasted G.F. Farms Chicken
Red Bliss potatoes, roasted shallots, mushrooms & pan jus
~~~~~

Frangipane Tartlet
Local figs & vanilla ice cream
~or~

Dark Chocolate Pot de Crème
Salted caramel & almond biscotti
