Written by Tom Fitzmorris August 28, 2014 13:01 in

The Coolinary season is still in force at Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak, just next door from the flagship of the Galatoire armada of goodness. The steakhouse only served lunch on Fridays, and there's a special summer menu for that. At dinner every night except Friday and Saturday, "33" (that was the original address of the place before the city changed the numbering system over a century ago) serves this three-course dinner for a Coolinary $35:

Creole Tomato Salad
Sweet onions, basil
~or~

Vichyssoise
Basil oil
~or~

Fried Oysters
Roasted garlic, pickled onions
~~~~~
Sautéed Redfish
Roma tomato, pineapple quinoa
~or~
Petite Filet Rossini
Sautéed spinach, liver pate, sauce Madeira
~or~
Stuffed Pork Chop
Hot sausage, basil over apple puree
~~~~~

Seasonal Cobbler
Vanilla ice cream
~or~

Mocha Panna Cotta

Radio Special Today! Today on The Food Show, I will give away two certificates good for $75 each for dining at either Galatoire's or Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak. One of the contests will require you to have a Ciao Number, which you can get for free by calling me on the air between noon and three with a food report or food question: 260-6368. (You can't get a Ciao Number by email or text messaging.) That rich giveaway makes it a good day to listen to my program, which Gambit has just said is the Number One Talk Radio Show in New Orleans. It's on 1350 AM and on HD2 at 105.3 FM.
