SummerDiningSpecials [title type="h5"]In Summer, Chef Duke Won't Stop Cooking[/title] Maybe it's an Italian thing, or maybe it's just Chef Duke's need to make sure all the possible tastes of his customers are provided for. But Cafe Giovanni's summer menu--which started early a week or so ago--matches the Pelican Club in the number of appetizers and entrees (seven of each). And that's saying something. For $38, you get a three-course dinner that include most of the dishes I would recommend to you if you were going at a normal time of year. Here are the specifics:

Soup of the Day
~or~

Fried Green Tomato w/ Remoulade
~or~

The only restriction is that if you go for the special menu, everyone at the table must get it. That is no big deal: there's always a chowhound at any table who will pick up the slack for those of lesser appetite. Nor will they stop you if you want to add another course, without everyone's having to follow suit. The price is $38, plus plus. You can go any day of the week except Sunday (Cafe Giovinni closes Sundays in the summer). The singers stroll around Wednesday through Friday. The menu will run a little bit into September, not ending when the main phalanx of Coolinary menus end.
