Bread Pudding Brulee @ Cafe B
The idea of encrusting the top of a bread pudding the same way that trick is applied to creme brulee is catching on. I've encountered a half-dozen versions around town, and liked them all. This one at Cafe B is baked individually--the way a creme brulee or custard would be--in a cast-iron cup. A scoop of ice cream over the top adds to the interesting constrasts. Bread pudding's variants are as numerous as the stars.
