[title type="h3"]Cirque De Cuisine[/title]
New Orleans people love to show off their cooking, and this is the time of year for a particularly interesting display of local culinary ability. Cirque De Cuisine is a tour of kitchens in the French Quarter, whose residents have much to brag about. This year's Cirque De Cuisine was delayed by Hurricane Nate for a couple of weeks, with the event occurring this weekend.
The kitchens and courtyards of ten Vieux Carre homes welcome you as you wander around the Quarter. Food from an assortment of local restaurants is passed around at each stop on the itinerary. They include Toups South, MayPop, Broussard’s, Two Girls One Shuck, Cajun Caviar, Mayhew Bakery, Grand Isle, Opal Basil, Briquette, WJ Smokehouse, and Eat New Orleans. Each stop along the way also refreshes your thirst, starting with Champagne from Patrick's Bar Vin, and provide a variety of imbibations as you check out the other guy's kitchen, pantry, and courtyard.
The stroll begins at 1 p.m. at the Bourbon Orleans Hotel (1717 Orleans Avenue, right behind St. Louis Cathedral). There you pay the admission ($65, unless you bought tickets in advance. The stroll ends at 5 p.m.
