Merguez @ Jamila’s
Merguez is an herbal, spicy sausage made of veal or beef and lamb in Northern Africa. It’s a particular specialty of Tunisia and Morocco, from which Moncef and Jamila Sbaa came to New Orleans decades ago. The merguez they make in house is not only one of their restaurant’s greatest specialties, but also a very popular item at the Jazz Festival every year. They grill it, and that’s all it needs for deliciousness.
