Strawberry Baked Alaska @ Bistro Daisy
The concept of baked Alaska is so simple–ice cream on top of pound cake, all covered with meringue–is so simple that chefs have been tempted to add new dimensions to it. The best of these–far better than the common idea of adding chocolate syrup–is this idea from Chef Tony Schulte at Bistro Daisy. Strawberry ice cream in the center, fresh strawberries suspended in the meringue. What a great end to a romantic evening!
