Moussaka is one of the signature dishes of Greek restaurants the world over. It's a layered dish with family roots in common with lasagna and shepherd's pie. The Acropolis, with its evenly-split Greek-and-Italian menu, turns out a wonderful moussaka. The eggplant component and the bechamel sauce (the white stuff that looks like mashed potatoes) are both wonderfully light. Ground beef and tomato make up the rest of the ingredients. In recent times, this has been made in individual baking pan, instead of one large pan with a day's worth in it. That makes the moussaka come out even lighter and better. It makes for great eating, especially on chilly days.
