Vanilla Pots De Creme With Strawberries @ Cafe B
The dessert department at Ralph Brennan's bistro in Old Metairie is the most polished part of Cafe B's act. This item doesn't sound like any big deal, but both the visible vanilla-bean custard (pots de creme are like caramel custards but with a smaller egg component) and the fresh seasonal Louisiana strawberries are as delicious as they are beautiful. It looks like something out of a food magazine.
