Fried Artichoke Hearts @ Rusty Pelican
This is a cheap thrill, but not a common one. They cut artichoke hearts (canned, I'm sure) into quarters, coat them with a light cornmeal crust, and deep-fry. Send them out in a megaload (one order feeds four) with a side order of ranch dressing on the side. Then try to stop eating them. It's a good side dish to the good crab cakes here, except that those are fried, too. I'll bet these artichokes would make a great vegan poor boy sandwich.
