Carrollton Market Does The Coolinary
The Coolinary for 2017 is underway through the end of August. Conceived by the the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau, its goal is to encourage local Orleanians as well as frequent visitors to our city to dine in more often in the city's better restaurants. To that end, the restaurants offer three-course dinners of their best fare for prices between $35 and $39. That will also go on at lunchtime for some of the Coolinary restaurants, when a two-course lunch goes for about $20. This year's Coolinary is especially appealing, with over 100 restaurant taking part. The New Orleans Menu Daily will feature one of the best Coolinary menus every day in this space. Here's one now! [caption id="attachment_42803" align="alignnone" width="480"] The food bar at Carrollton Market.[/caption] Carrollton Market is a misnomer. It's a full-fledged gourmet bistro, with the most illustrative open kitchen in town. The nine stools in front of the cooking line allows you to get a good look at the food being served, and making a better-than-average choice. Their menu for the Coolinary sounds good: $39 for three courses, every night except Sunday and Monday, when the restaurant is closed.
