New Orleans restaurant Sac-a-Lait is teaming up with Sazerac Company and the United States Bartending Guild (USBG) to host a five-course Bourbon Dinner to raise funds for those affected by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. "It's been tragic to see so many of our friends and colleagues displaced and suffering It hits home for us in New Orleans and we want to do whatever we can to help them repair and rebuild," says Sac-a-Lait Chef/Co-owner Samantha Carroll. The five-course dinner begins at 6:30PM and will feature culinary delights from Samantha and husband/Chef Cody Carroll, paired with innovative Sazerac cocktails from Beverage Director Norton Christopher. Here's the menu:
Deviled Crab
Pontchartrain crab meat, whipped egg yok, marinated cucumber, Bourbon sabayon
Cocktail: Garden Sour, Sazerac rye, citrus, garden herbs, bitters
Roasted Quail
Bourbon glaze, dirty rice
Cocktail: Eagle Rare, jalapeño, black pepper, coriander, charred tarragon, Ojen
Cocktail Intermission: Gone Fishin--Buffalo Trace White Dog, peach, lime, ginger, lemongrass, garden herbs
Wild Boar Chop
Confit potatoes, heirloom tomato, Bourbon Creolaise
Cocktail: Old Fashioned, Stagg Jr demerara, bitters, flamed citrus
Chocolate Gooey Cake
Charred marshmallow, bourbon ice cream, spiced pecan crumble, bourbon caramel
