Especially when one can retreat into the warmth of a two-century-old plantation. That's the scene this time of year on the levee-lined grounds of Houmas House Plantation and its marvelous Latil's Landing. Among the live oak trees, enjoy the feast while visually shopping the big buffet set out by chef Joseph Dicapo. The price is $65 for adults and $25 for kids under 10.
