Sucre started out as a first-class maker of cakes, cookies, macaroons,. pastries, and the like. My wife says it reminds her of Hollywood somehow. In recent times the Sucre guys rolled out a savory menu in its French Qyaurer location. It's light, a little exotic, and a pleasure to have with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee. For the Coolinary, Salon has a three-course dinner for a surprising $25. Add ten dollars, and the meal grows two glasses of wine--and it's still below the standard Coolinary dinner price. At lunchtime, a $15 entree and dessert scheme rolls for $15. The only drawback: Salon is open only Thursdays through Sundays.
