The Guinness Book Of Records Comes To Town...Again.

There are sixteen avocados un our refrigerator. We are less concerned about buying so many since someone called the show to say that Martha Stewart said they keep in the fridge. We would likely still have bought them anyway, as our contribution to the Guinness Book of World Records Avocado Fest Wednesday at the Rouse’s on Tchoupitoulas. When ML and I dropped in to see this spectacle, she was astonished to see how many avocados were left in the display in less than 24 hours. It was almost a normal display. Instead of the 3 for .25 yesterday, it was 3 for $1. And there were stations around the store serving avocado crema on quesadillas and toast. There are still a lot of avocados, and still at a good price. Straggler avocados will be donated to various places. And if you want them to last more than a day, refrigerate them. Martha says, and who are we to doubt?
