On The Radio Yesterday...

It was a great show today. We started off talking about Arnaud’s and were soon rerouted by a call from a guy named Scott Bellina, whose mother was a Baumer, of Baumer Foods. He told tales of his grandfather, who started the company Baumer Foods. It was fascinating to have this inside glimpse of this New Orleans hot sauce institution, Scotty lives in New York City, and was calling to tell us about his new hot sauce company, called Bayou Gotham. He and Tom talked Jesuit and hot sauce, and general cliche memories of New Orleans. It was fun, and I hope he takes us up on our offer to have him come into the studio for a hot sauce tasting on one of his many trips back home. A link to his company:

That call was followed by another great call from a young man - this time from the Tucks Parade crew, who reminded us of our promise to judge 14 gumbos this Saturday at Audubon Park Shelter 10 for the Tucks Umbrella and Gumbo Walk 2020. That’s this Saturday at 9am. Tickets are $25. Great fun for the whole family. An umbrella second line, kid activities, bands, and lots of gumbo. Come join us this Saturday at 9am. Audubon Park Shelter 10 by the clubhouse.

And Tom pitched the topic of steakhouses, and we had some fun declaring our favorites.
