FIrst there were wine pairings. Then cocktails, and now beer, which was thought of as the lesser spirit, swilled raucously at sporting events and frat parties. Until the explosion of microbreweries. And now beer has gone way upscale and is pairing with really fancy food like cocktails and wine before it.

Next Thursday June 27th, at Bijoux Restaurant at the Le Pavillon Hotel, Urban South Brewery will bring in beers with fun names to sit alongside a six-course meal that is definitely gourmet. It’s called “The Art Of The Pairing Dinner, and it will begin at 7pm. Below is a brief description. See website for details.

Coriander Dusted Hawaiian Sea Bass  and Navel Orange Gastrique, Yukon Gold potato Mousseline paired with Charming Wit

Coconut Milk and Melon with Sago paired with Get Off My Cloud
