diningdiary [title type="h4"]Saturday, January 11, 2014.[/title] The Charming Couple--our daughter and The Boy--were interested in breakfast with the old man. Mary Ann even came along. It was the usual array of pancakes and omelettes from the expert cooks at Bella Luna. Mine was stuffed with peppers, onions, mozzarella, Italian sausage and marinara sauce. I can't remember ever having had that omelette here before, but I will get it again. The Saints, having broken the jinx that prevented them from ever winning a post-season game away from home, played today in mid-afternoon. But that knocked out my radio show, and determined where supper would be: The Chimes. Packed house. Our friends Dr. Doug Swift and wife Karen joined us as we put away several dozen oysters in different presentations, a few salads, and a seafood platter. Then the Saints lost. I returned to this week's big project: rebuilding all the restaurants-open lists (all seven of them) for the first time in many weeks. The number rose to 1388. But I know of at least ten new places that soon will open, and I suspect that by the time Lent is forgotten (in Week Three for most people) we will have more than 1400 operating eateries in the area. I am beginning to think that this is too many. FleurDeLis-3-Small
