[title type="h3"]Cafe Sbisa Raises Funds Deliciously For Puerto Rico[/title] As badly as many areas of America have been hit by hurricanes this month, Puerto Rico's disaster was much, much worse. Surrounded as it its by water, the Caribbean island was without power, fuel, shelter, food and even water for weeks while ships and airplanes were found (not easily) to bring the supplies in. The horrible destruction moved the hearts of Cafe Sbisa's owners Alfred Singleton and Craig Napoli. Through the month of October, 100 percent of the proceeds of all dinners and brunches will go to help the Puerto Ricans establish their lives again. It's a payback for the help the restaurant received from all over after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Making this effort even more effective, Cafe Sbisa is working with Cajun Airlift, which is delivering the badly-needed supplies. Fifty pilots have delivered 25,000 pounds of supplies. This is the most generous effort I've seen to do heal the island's hurt. All you need to do to help is to make a reservation for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, or for Sunday brunch. The price will be the same as you'd ordinarily pay at Cafe Sbisa, plus tax and tip. If you haven't been to Sbisa's since it reopened a year ago, here's the best reason to do so now. See you there soon.
