I heard Ella Brennan once sing the praises of what she called "robe day." This is when you get up in the morning, put on a robe, and spend the day working through miscellanous jobs that you don't have time for when you're caught up in the hurly-burly of the office (or, in her case, Commander's Palace). The eating amounts to just grabbing snacks all day. I don't own a robe. I am infamous for being dressed in a long-sleeved button-down shirt, long pants and tie even when I'm in my most casual moments. No jacket is almost as casual as I get, unless I'm cutting grass. Since I have the capability of doing the show from home, I can spend the day in my home office (which Mary Ann has taken to calling a mancave), plowing through the backed-up work. I was home alone. Mary Ann was off doing something across the lake. Mary Leigh and The Boy are off by themselves somewhere, getting ready for a week-long trip to Baltimore and Charleston, as The Boy heads home for Christmas. So I got a lot done, mainly on the new website, which is finally starting to shape up.
