Mary Ann gave the car transporter guy his $700 for delivering Jude's old BMW to the Cool Water Ranch. Now all we have to do is find a place in our driveway for one more car. We need to include a dog for there to have a one-to-one correspondence between drivers and automobiles. Speaking of dogs. . . Mary Leigh brought her dog Bauer to the Cool Water Ranch yesterday. The inevitable response from Barry, The Dog Barricade and Miracle Dog Susie is predictable. They are calm at first, but when any one of them makes a false move, a fight erupts. Bauer is the smallest of all of them. Barry is four or five times Bauer's size. Barry does whatever Susie tells him to do. It's not cute what happens next. It will take awhile for the two German Shepherds to accept the new interloper, no matter how much we humans like him. Bauer seems very relieved to be headed to his digs in ML's apartment. After the radio show, I discover that there is no NPAS rehearsal tonight. We will be singing Christmas music in a variety of venues during the next week or two. Already I have missed two of them for not knowing what's going on. Or for having too many things going on, more probably. For supper, Mary Ann has cooked up beef short ribs with broccoli and potatoes. The short ribs simmered on top of the stove for hours, and comes out in shreds. Which is exactly the way she likes them. The beef has the perfect texture for a roast beef poor boy, and is good for other reasons, too. It's almost a New England boiled dinner. Which I haven't cooked up in a long time.
