On the way to the show I noticed that Dairy Queen was in town for a convention they called DQ 2020 Connect, so I asked for Dairy Queen memories, and even got a few, but mostly from Tom. We also learned that Dairy Queen is part of an enormous food conglomerate (no surprise) that includes Orange Julius, which spawned its own questions. Memories of Orange Julius followed, along with talk of Valentine’s Day, and incredibly, more on chicken sandwiches.
We talked about the Seiler Bar in Covington and Tom and I debated its merits. And I asked if Doug could be more like Ed McMahon or Andy Richter than an old curmudgeon. He said no.
