On August 17, 2019, the New Orleans Eat Club will fly into the general neighborhood of London. We'll work our way to to Southhampton, where we'll board the Princess Cruise Lines's ship The Crown Princess. For the next twelve days, we'll indulge in the Eat Club's first trip to Europe since 2015. And, what with the many people I know with Irish roots, a great one it will be!
We start in Guernsey, an island in the English Channel off the
Coast of Normandy--site of 75th anniversary of D-Day.
On to Cork, Ireland, a major port of Irish emigration to the United States. See where your ancestors got a last glimpse of their homeland before starting a new life in America. And kiss the Blarney Stone, if you like. (Not recommended, sez Tom.)
The Irish capital city Dublin will entertain us all day, and then allow us to remain there overnight. Other attractions follow in close order:

Now to Glasgow, home of Glasgow University, beautiful cathedrals, castles, and art museums. Browse the city's charming West End, particularly Ashton Lane.
After two sea days rounding the northern tip of Scotland, we call on Edinburgh, itself a gothic masterpiece. Edinburgh Castle and gardens and the Royal Mile below will keep you occupied in this very popular European capital!
Our final stop is France and the busy cruise port Le Havre. It's just a hop from here to Paris for a whirlwind day in this most-loved city. We wrap up our travels in London, which rivals Paris as a major European favorite. What's left to say? Stand on a street corner, turn in any direction, and make some great memories that you'll remember and share.
