Tonight the Emeril Lagasse Foundation hosts its annual Boudin, Bourbon and Beer Event. It will overwhelm many a hungry palate. I attended the event in its first running in 2002. Then at Tchoupitoulas and Magazine Streets and environs-all were filled, and the music played loudly and the booze flowed freely. Raucous is the only way to describe this. The endlessness of the sausages and other meat-centric dishes in the Creole and Cajun styles made the eating outrageous. Meanwhile, Chef Emeril stoked the fire that brought over $11 million for children in need in New Orleans. Expect the same generosity, deliciousness, and music this time around. The event has grown to include over 70 name chefs in New Orleans and the gulf coast, and as far away as Chicago. Now at Champions Square.
