French Onion Soup Gratinee @ Ciro's Cote Sud
Nobody tops the French chefs for this classic hot soup from the old market of Paris. And the guys who operate this combination of French bistro and pizzeria are very French. We find caramelized onions, a beef broth rich with gelatin, a raft of toasted bread topped with melted (then re-solidified) gruyere cheese. Nothing could be better on a cool night (like last night), although it's pretty good any time of the year.
