Thai Food Is Good For A Cold.

The symptoms of this cold have progressed into the worst stage, at least from the perspective of one who has to talk on the radio for three hours. I'm a little achy, too. It's on days like this that I most appreciate being able to do the radio show from home.

Hot and sour soup.

To Thai Spice after the show for soup and more soup. The first was Chinese-style hot and sour. The clear tom yum soup and the coconut-milk-laced tom gha soup are both better, but I wanted a contrast with the panang curry entree. The chef here knows that I like this in the Thai style, which is to say quite spicy and very brothy, loaded with vegetables. It's the perfect meal when one has a cold. The pepper, cilantro and ginger punch the symptoms aside, and one feels much better, with a clear head and the ability to breathe.

Panang curry.

The Marys arrived home from Atlanta around ten. How and why Mary Ann makes that 500-plus mile trip in eight hours is beyond me. I'm glad I took the train home.
