Where else but in New Orleans would there be a birthday party for Huey Long all these years later? Kingfish Kitchen & Cocktails wants you to celebrate their namesake’s birthday with them next Thursday, a week from today, at the restaurant.
The party will be during the 4-7pm happy hour, and will feature the Guvna’s favorite cocktail, a Ramos Gin Fizz. Samples of boudin will be passed around. And Meyer the Hatter will be on hand to measure guests for hats, and to sell them, in case you want one like Huey.
So wear your seersucker suit or best garb-of-the-era and post a pic on Instagram (#PartyWithHuey) for a chance to win a $100 gift card from Kingfish Kitchen & Cocktails, and a $100 gift certificate from Meyer the Hatter, which has been a local institution since 1894. It is the South’s largest hat store.
