The big question on the show yesterday was about the old Marti’s, next door to the original building that housed WWL Radio. We spoke of Marti and Anne Kearney and John Neal and Tom Wolfe, all of whom are connected by Marti’s. This conversation originated with the almanac fact that Tennessee Williams died today in 1983. And Marti's and Galatoire’s were his favorite local restaurants. He lived across the street from Marti’s but had to travel a bit farther for Galatoire’s.
And the other main topics were Mardi Gras, and a lengthy report on our activities from Sunday, ending in a discussion about perceived value, a topic I wrote about in today’s nomenu.com.
