Modest Victuals.
Another day, another three inches of rain. This will be the year for which all the trees will create the widest rings. They will be seen by idiots who will cut down all the trees at the Cool Water Ranch to put up twelve houses where now is only our one. The cypress trees--the slowest-growing of them all down here--may have doubled the amount of foliage they've put up this spring.
I took a break for lunch at the Camellia Café, where is one of the few buffets I can stand. The feature today is red beans, of course, and red beans improve in a steam table. They have fried chicken, too, but I leave that alone in favor of some hot sausage cooked to order. Good vegetable soup to start with. Two small cubes of bread pudding and I'm done eating for the day.
Except for a slice of that pizza I bought yesterday for my supper. A day of limited eating is a good idea once a week or so.
