The craft breweries keep opening, the taps never running dry of clever names for their beers. Parish Brewing Company of Broussard (just south of Lafayette) will hold its first public beer dinner at the Red Fish Grill this Wednesday, June 25, 6:30 p.m. The beers cover most of the range of beer qualities, from hoppy IPAs to a dark beer made with, of all things, Steen's cane syrup. Chef Austin Kirzner's menu is also all over the map, with some intriguing dishes and another attempt to give corn dogs gustatory appeal. (It might happen, you never know. But. . .) Here's the menu:

Andouille-Crusted Oyster Corn Dogs
Three-cabbage peach slaw, Crystal hot sauce butter
Wine: Canebrake Wheat Ale

Crawfish Boil Chowder
Grilled corn relish, green onion oil
Wine: Envie American Pale Ale

Wood Grilled Gulf Wild Snapper
Marinated blue crab, spring vegetable “pasta," smoked red pepper sauce
Wine: South Coast Sessions Amber Ale

Cast Iron Seared Petite Filet of Louisiana Beef
Shrimp, crispy potato planks, horseradish creamed spinach
Wine: Farmhouse IPA Belgian Style Ale

Dr. Hoptagon Black IPA Float
Caramel sea salt ice cream, espresso cocoa nibs

The dinner is $70, plus tax and tip. . . so, a little high at $90. Reservations are essential at the number below. Dress is casual.
