Pecan Waffles @ Camellia Grill
Here, now, is a waffle of the kind that made waffles popular. The squares are small--only about an inch across, as opposed to the much larger Belgian style. Each waffle is made to order within your view. The cook pours the batter into the iron, then shakes a bunch of whole pecans over it. You watch the batter come gushing out the side of the closed iron as it does its deed. Great for breakfast; even better for dessert late in the evening, after a Camellia Grill hamburger.
