The Pelican Club will change plans a little this Monday, reversing course by opening for lunch from 12-4 and closing for dinner. It’s so unusual to get lunch there it’s a perfect opportunity not to miss. The menu is a la carte and includes soups like chicken andouille gumbo, creamy crab bisque and a carrot ginger vegan soup option. Nine appetizers are offered, including baked oysters, tuna poke, the signature seafood martini ravigote, BBQ shrimp, escargots, quail with foie gras, crab cakes, Salad Maison and a scalloped stuffed artichoke. Entrees are no less interesting, featuring a trio of duckling, paneed redfish with jumbo lump crabmeat, the signature whole crispy fish, Louisiana jumbo lump crab spaghetti fino. There is an 8 oz filet mignon, a 10 oz rack of lamb, or a 1 lb lobster, with shrimp and scallop, and Louisiana Cioppino in its own pot. This has a vegetarian or vegan option. Desserts here are plentiful and just as delicious.
