Galatoire's 33 Bar & Steak

Five years ago, if you said that within a few months Galatoire's would open a second restaurant next door to its original location, you would been thought of as being at the very least mistaken. But there it is, a steakhouse that in some ways is a lot like Galatoire's, and in other ways completely different. In the last couple of years the reports have all been excellent. The food is in the same league as that of the mother ship, in that it's simple cooking of very fine main materials. And if there's something at Galatoire's next door that you hunger for, you can usually get it. That is even true for the Reveillon menus. Both restaurants are participating in the program, with two or three dishes to choose from in each course. The Galatoire's menu is a little more attractive, but it's also a little more expensive. The steakhouse is asking for a mere $49 for its four courses, while the original Galatoire's wants around ten bucks more. But this ordering must be completed tonight or tomorrow night, because Reveillon at Galatoire's and 33 both end on Christmas Eve.

Four courses, $49.

FULL REVIEW

All the Reveillon menus can be perused here. We'll feature one every day throughout the Reveillon season, which runs in most of the Reveillon restaurants until December 31.The snowflake ratings are for the Reveillon menu, not the restaurant in general. Dishes marked with the snowflake symbol ✽ are my recommendations.
