On The Radio Yesterday...

Yesterday’s show we talked of presidents since it was President’s Day. I asked the question about favorite foods of presidents throughout the years, and it almost turned out to be the vanilla pudding question of the day. But Gregory, evidently a big history buff, spread his knowledge of the subject and entertained us for a while.  I eventually found a list of presidents and their favorite foods and went through it in the second hour. There were some surprises there and some obvious things. Extremely large resident Taft liked steak the most, but equally large Teddy Roosevelt liked coffee.

And we talked of the event in Baton Rouge over the weekend at John Folse’s place. Fête des Bouchers was most interesting, as was the tour of his White Oak Estate and Gardens.

It was National Cafe Au Lait Day, and we spoke a little about that since that is Tom's favorite thing. Another favorite for Tom, sardines, got some time because it was the day the first sardines were canned. No garlic though.
