Still No Bacon. Saints @ Vitascope.

The weather has been springlike--seventies by day, not cool enough at night to turn on the heater. It's January, isn't it?

Probably because of vacation momentum, the Marys conducted their day by ignoring me completely. They slept late, then almost immediately headed into town to watch the game in Mary Ann's new favorite place to watch football games. It's called Vitascope, a sports bar with lots of big and little screens in the newly-reopened Hyatt Regency Hotel, off the atrium on the Loyola Street side. She says it's classy, cool, and has the Marys' kind of food--four-inch-high burgers, fresh-cut fries, even fresh-cut potato chips. MA says the seasoning on the chips is a little weird.

They stayed there to watch the Saints soundly defeat whoever that was they were playing. Everybody's saying we're going to the Super Bowl. Great.

I stayed home and chiseled away at my vacation backlog. My only formal meal today was breakfast at the Marriott Courtyard. I wanted to see whether they are persisting with the new, ridiculous no-bacon-on-weekends policy. They are. I did a U-turn and headed for the door. But Chef Gloria stopped me and said she'd fry up some strips for me. So I stayed.
