Stacking Bytes. Painting. RocketFire.
My plan to overhaul the website and install a new engine in it is rolling along, although twice now I have had to stop, delete everything I'd done so far, and start over. The incompetence that this may indicate isn't all that bad. I think in this case it's much better to begin anew than try to live with a chronic problem. I still think I can have it all done before I go on vacation at the end of August.
Mary Ann has undertaken a much more grueling and equally enormous job. She has decided to paint the exterior of the house. She has made it clear that she wants no assistance and especially no advice from me, although what small amount of brute muscle I can supply might be needed. Most of this has to do with moving a scaffolding around.
She has it in her mind to give our house the first total paint job it has ever had. On several occasions we've painted large parts of it, but always something came up to make us stop. Usually, it had to do with the difficulty of getting to the highest places. But she says that if she has to rent a cherrypicker, she will. What I know for sure is to stay out of her way. When she works hard, she gets angry at everyone and everything around her. Even the dogs.
I had a three-hour radio show at noon. At six, we went out to dinner at RocketFire Pizza. My idea, and it caught the Marys at the right time. We haven't been there lately. Pizza and salad sounded good, and the baked oysters with spinach-artichoke dip in place of the classic Rockefeller sauce always hits home with me. It may be the best dish in the whole place, baked in the coal-fired pizza oven.
I hear these guys are soon to open a second location on the South Shore. How should I feel about locally-based chains. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
