Almost A Great Place To Eat.

One of those Saturdays full of the little, low-priority jobs that stack up all week. Add a three-hour radio show, and it ceases to be a day off. But I like my work too much to complain.

A ham and pepperjack omelette at the Camellia Café got the day rolling. Dinner was attenuated by a common need on the parts of both Mary Ann and me to eat lightly. I suggested DiMartino's, whose grilled redfish (below) is in the style you'd find in a much more expensive restaurant. Just the thing I was in the mood for.

DiMartino's redfish.

But, as usual, the peculiar order-at-the-counter format of the otherwise classy DiMartino's made for confusion over the sauce on the side dish of pasta. I wanted something like aglio olio--the lemon-and-herb butter on the fish coming close enough. But what the server brought was wrong three times. Wrong sauce first, cold sauce second, half the amount needed the third. If only she had been the one to take the order, instead of the checkout clerk in the window, we wouldn't have these problems.

The food continues to be good, though. I like that they have Angelo Brocato's fig cookies. Perfect little dessert.
