October A Good Time To Revisit An Old Superstar

As you must surely already know, October is National Pasta Month, and the celebrations continue. This time at a restaurant featuring pasta all the way back to the Nineties, when macaroni changed its American name. Semolina started with three guys and a great idea in a tiny shopping center deep in downtown Covington. Tom came back from the opening with a prescient declaration: what an incredible idea this was, and what a tremendous success it would be. Fast forward nearly thirty years, and the idea of pasta as a restaurant's focal point has come, been overdone, and gone, yet Semolina remains in its location in the corner of Clearview Mall, still serving this delicious comfort food in many applications.


For national pasta month, Semolina refocuses on its signature item, offering specials at special prices:

The Macaroni & Cheese Cake continues to be a fabulous dish, and a best-seller. It sits proudly in a standing wedge draped in a rich creamy sauce and is served with crostini for $9.75.

The Lobster Mac & Cheese Bites are just that-bites of crispy fried mac’n’cheese with lobster folded in, served with a spicy cheese sauce for dipping. This is $13.75.

Meatball Mac & Cheese features Semolina’s homemade meatballs and classic Marinara sauce served over pasta with Parmesan, Fontina, and Provolone cheese, at $15.99.

Cowboy Mac & Cheese is stuffed with Serrano BBQ pulled pork and served with creamy rich cheese sauce and shredded gouda and drizzled with chopped cilantro for $15.99.

Shrimp Florentine Mac & Cheese is the classic Semolina Mac draped in a creamy spinach sauce topped with Parmesan-crusted shrimp and crispy spinach. $13.95.


All of this is available until the end of this month, so get over there and revisit simpler times, when a well-made bowl of creamy delicious pasta was pure happiness.
