Gumbo lovers, your day is here! Tomorrow from 5:30-8:30 pm at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, the 20th annual United Way Gumbo Cook-off will fill a ballroom with delicious aromas of the best gumbos around town. This is a steal at $30 (in advance and $35 at the door.)
This is a collection of the best gumbos to be had, from the likes of the Donald Link group, and John Folse, and other real pros around town, like Calcasieu Catering & Events. Chef Raymond Signal, Desire Oyster Bar, Hilton New Orleans Riverside, Hyatt Centric French Quarter, Hyatt Regency New Orleans, LSU Dining, Marriott New Orleans, New Orleans School of Cooking, Restaurant R'evolution, Royal Sonesta New Orleans, The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans, Sodexo - Loyola Dining Services, and Windsor Court Hotel. (Our personal favorite.) Exotic and traditional gumbos, it's all here.
There will also be desserts and competition for table decorations. This is a fun night of great eating.
