The original Mulate's in Breaux Bridge is a mammoth dance hall and restaurant, and is something of a phenomenon in the Cajun country. The New Orleans edition has live music and dancing at night, but the food is even more of a footnote than it is out on the bayou. At times the food can be good (surprisingly, this often occurs on the buffet offered at lunch), but it's terribly inconsistent. I also find the platters ungenerous.
