Passing Time, Pizza, And Beethoven

Is it just us or are the days all blending for everyone? We’re having to check sometimes to see if it’s Tuesday or Wednesday (yes, we know it is Thursday) but there is such a sameness to every day it is almost alarming. And at the same time soothing. The person most affected by the changes to a routine is Tom, who for nearly fifty years has eaten every meal out of the house. These developments are traumatic for him.

The Marys, who are constantly complaining about trying to maintain weight control with delicious restaurant food in front of them are breathing a sigh of relief. The refrigerator is jammed to bursting with mostly salad greens and other vegetables. But who wants that when a cream sauce is before you?

Now we have to go out and get a cream sauce and bring it back, but Tom has been craving pizza. Very adaptable to take out. We have been unabashedly counterculture on the north shore with ambivalence to the very popular Leonardo’s Trattoria. We got pizza from there Tuesday night. It was $13.10, which was a bargain. It was a large pizza and fine, nothing special but it hit the spot for Tom. The pizza was a pepperoni, but we ordered it the way we always do if Tom is involved - all the pepperoni on one side, which makes that side a pepperoni lover’s dream. He is a Margherita guy, and he liked that fine.

We followed that pizza last night with another pick-up, this time from Bosco’s Pizza. It too was a Margherita. This one was $20 and also hit the spot for Tom. Neither of these pizzas was extraordinary in any way but certainly worth the price and trip to pick it up if you are craving a pizza.

We will add to our day today some time for listening to Beethoven, on this his 250th birthday.

All the rest of the time here is spent doing podcasts that are not getting posted, so if you are missing the Food Show, the old podcast link still works.
