Yesterday on the show we talked to @timilyandthetoaster, who checked in from Oklahoma City with reports about their arguments about where to go next, as they contemplated driving mountain roads in the snow in Colorado in their 1995 renovated RV. Follow their adventures on Instagram.
The next hour Darina Allen dropped in. She is here for 30 hours on a whirlwind tour of New Orleans. One of the students in her cooking class at Ballymaloe Cookery School runs the Hotel Peter and Paul, and she is staying there. She gushed about New Orleans from her brief tour, but her tales about her life had us riveted. She runs a cooking school with residential housing on-site, and the family runs an inn in the Cork countryside. She is here to promote her 19th book, “One Pot Feeds All,” a gorgeous book with an important message.
Tom commented later she reminded him of someone you’d hear on NPR. That’s not surprising, because she and her daughter-in-law Rachel Allen both have PBS shows in America.
