With nothing but questions surrounding us right now, there is one thing we know for sure. Easter is going to look quite different this year. A day normally marked with packed dining rooms and high-stakes reservations will be celebrated at home with immediate family over a home-cooked meal, or if you’re inclined to take a cue from one of these restaurants, over large aluminum pans filled with family-style meals from your favorite restaurant. Here’s a few restaurants adapting to be able to bring Easter to you this year.


Messina’s Catering is offering a selection of several family style portions to build your own Easter meal. Last day to order is Thursday, 4/9. Pick up is available in Kenner, or at Messina’s at the Terminal at the Lakefront Airport.


Galatoire’s is offering hearty selection of grab-and-go additions to your Easter meal. While they are not offering any mains, their excellent selection of cold appetizers, soups, sides, bread pudding, bubbly, and even take and bake Oyster Rockefeller could easily make a fabulous meal even without a centerpiece meat. Toups’ Meatery will be open on Easter serving specialty brunch items for pickup and delivery from 11AM-3PM. As a special addition to their daily free family meal to those in need, the restaurant will also be giving away Easter baskets for kids on Saturday 4/11.


Rizzuto’s is offering a small selection of ½ pans of their delectable Italian favorites, each feeding 6-8 people. They will be open on Easter for pickup from 11AM-2PM, but call 504-300-1804 to order in advance.


Andrea’s will be open on Easter, per tradition, with a large selection of family sized portions for 4 people, including hot and cold appetizers, soups, entree with 2 sides, and dessert. Everything is a la carte, but individual 3-course meals for $39 will also be available. Call 504-834-8583 for pickup or delivery Easter Sunday 12PM-5PM.

Jacmel Inn is offering a set menu with 4 entree’s to choose from plus a salad, two sides, and dessert. $25 or $30 per person, depending on entree selection. Call 985-542-0043 to order no later than Friday, 4/10 at 5PM. Pickup on Sunday 11AM-3PM.

Nuvolari’s is offering a selection of whole and half pan portions of their wonderful pastas, plus family portions of Caesar Salad and Tomato Basil Soup. If you’re feeding a smaller group, their regular takeout menu will also be available. Call 985-626-5619 to order by Saturday, 4/11 at 3PM. Pickup on Sunday 11AM-5PM.

Stick’s BBQ is offering several main course meat options by the pound, in case you’re not up for smoking your own turkey, brisket, or pork butt. It’s a great way to get a centerpiece dish for your Easter table, but they’re also offering a selection of sides by the quart to make it a full meal. Orders must be placed by 4PM on Friday 4/10, and pickup is on SATURDAY by 8PM. They will be closed Easter Sunday.

Breads on Oak is offering several Easter special items to accompany your Easter meal, or you can buy the full package at a discount if ordered by Friday. Choices include a vegetable galette, mac and cheese, broccoli casserole, carrot cake, and various tarts. Go to their website to see all the options and to order.

Coquette is offering a fixed menu sized to serve 4. It’s 3 courses, plus two sides and bread service. There is limited availability, and preorder begins Thursday 4/9 at 1PM. Pickup can be scheduled for Saturday 4/11 or Sunday 4/12. 504-265-0421.

The Ruby Slipper is offering a special menu of family meal bundles for 3-4, 6-8, or 8-10. You get a whole ham or brisket (or both) plus your selection of family sized sides and desserts. Order online no later than noon on Friday 4/10. Good Friday family meals are also available.

Doris Metropolitan has a selection of dishes available for a more sumptuous Easter meal, including a Prime Rib Roast by the pound, and Venison Osso Bucco. Sides, bread service, and ice cream all available a la carte. Order by Friday 4/10 at 5PM for pickup Sunday 12PM-5PM.Want the upscale meal cooked by you? Pickup from their butcher counter ahead of time and make your own Easter steak dinner.

Ralph’s on the Park is offering a set menu for 2, with 3 courses plus sides. While pickup is available on Sunday from 11AM-2PM, all meals will be packaged cold with reheating instructions. Order by Friday 4/10 at 4PM. 504-488-1000.
