The most active part of the New Orleans restaurant world these days has brought quite a few new restaurants to the corder between the CBD and the Warehouse District. This one is at the intersection of Girod and Tchoupitoulas Streets, next door to Emeril's Meril. It's a partnership between Dr. Segue Lewis and ZohReh Khaleghi. Zohreh had been operating the Flaming Torch Uptown until it came to a halt in, ironically, a fire. She came to the restaurant business in 2004, when her husband Hassan passed away prematurely after operating a good French bistro here. After some time, ZohReh heard enough encouragement to get back into the business, and here she is. The restaurant is a well-renovated structure that goes back to the 1840s. In the main dining room is a long dining room. A courtyard is adjacent to the main menu and has become popular, especially at lunchtime.
Roasted Red Pepper Soup With Goat Cheese Golden Beet Salad Pickled Fennel, Grana Padano Cheese, House Dressing Coquille St. Jacques Seared Sea scallops, wild mushrooms, shallots, white wine sauce with Gruyere cheese Rack Of Lamb Rubbed with roasted chicory, served with demi-glace, vegetable du jour, roasted potatoes House-Made Pistacchio-Saffron Ice Cream

The Eat Club visit to Vyoon'sd is scheduled for May 16 2018 at 6:30 p.m. Cocktails are available from a cash bar starting at around 6 p.m. We sit in tables of six to eight people. I move around from table to table to visit and discuss the dinner so far. The price per person is $80, inclusive of tax, tip, and wines with each of the courses. Payment is made at the restaurant at the beginning of dinner, by cash or credit card. Reservations are required.
