It was a fast-moving and lively show yesterday, starting with a restaurant report on Elle J’s, a new restaurant in Lakeview that we found pretty great, We commented on everything we had, and that was a lot of things. We heard from Don the Gourmet Neighbor and sometime guest cohost. He had something specific on his mind, a general surprise and disgust with the choice that New Orleans Magazine made for their Best Chef in New Orleans for 2019. This got me up on my soapbox for what is now a familiar rant from me.
The subject of eggnog came up, and we tried to get calls on whether people liked their eggnog spiked or not. We’ll never know because no one called. And I tried to revisit the subject of whether or not nice holiday things like fine themed china and linens actually make your spirits brighter.
No one could deter Tom from singing a few, and Doug popped in and out of the show. A good time was had by all, it seemed.
