SummerDiningSpecials [title type="h3"] Grand Isle Does The Coolinary.[/title] Grand Isle is a casual cafe whose menu is dominated by seafood, but also includes a lot of interesting Cajun dishes. The oyster bar is first-class. Here's the menu they're offering for $39 until the end of the month.

Thunderballs Cheese stuffed boudin balls, creole tomato and bacon grits and citrus gastrique
~or~

Heirloom Tomatoes and Crabmeat
Sugar snap peas and preserved lemon vinaigrette
~~~~~
Grilled Jumbo Gulf Shrimp
Compressed watermelon
~or~
Marinated Flank Steak
Charred eggplant puree, cress and cucumber salad, chimmichurri sauce, bruleed lemon
~~~~~

Vanilla Chiffon Cake
Trio of citrus curds (lemon, grapefruit, orange), spiked meringue, steen’s cane granola
~or~

PB&J Cheesecake
Peach jam, malted marshmallow

Coolinary 2015 is under way until the end of August, with eighty-eight restaurants taking part. The price for a three-course dinner is in the vicinity of $39. In the restaurants that serve Coolinary lunch, the price is usually $25 for two courses. I have selected the most interesting menus to appear in this space every day until the summer specials end. I mark what I think will be the best dishes with the » symbol. A list of all the Coolinary restaurants is here. The value for the dollar will be irresistible. FleurDeLis-3-Small
