Love Catfish, Fight Hunger This Afternoon

Written by Tom Fitzmorris June 03, 2014 13:01 in

This afternoon from four until eight, Mr. Ed's Oyster Bar & Fish Grill is serving its wild-caught fried catfish in a platter with cole slaw and potato salad for $15. This is the catfish that Bozo's--from whom Mr. Ed's took over last year, near Lakeside Mall--made famous. What makes this noteworthy is that the money will all go to the Second Harvesters Food Bank, a large and growing operation serving local needs. That "local" takes in a large territory, and more hungry people than you might imagine. Before you create a mental image of who might be hungry in this rich food land of ours, please consider that a third of them are children. The Food Bank is a lean, clean machine that spends almost nothing on administration and such. What you give goes almost entirely into food for people. MrEdsOysterBar-DR Fifteen dollars. Four till eight. Today. See you there?
