Some restaurateurs and chefs have a gift for creating special menus, seeming to understand what it is that makes an evening of dining memorable, without straying too far from familiar dishes and foodstuffs. I have always found that to be the case at Mat & Naddie's, whose building on the river road in Riverbend seems to promise nothing much more than neighborhood eats. The following menu is the restaurant's offering during the Coolinary season.

The three courses sell for $34, any night except Sunday and Wednesday. After the Coolinary officially ends on August 31, Mat & Naddie's will continue the specials with a slightly more ambitious menu and a $39 price.
