Serve Yourself

No one can accuse us of not taking our own advice. Last week, in writing about all the offerings from restaurants to improve our moods in these ridiculous times, we discovered another one so exciting we pounced on it semi-immediately. I write this with one hand on computer keys, the other holding a slice of Meribo Pizza from our own oven. Previously from the frozen food case at Acquistapace’s in Covington. This is something new that started about a week ago. We had to try it. Tonight was the night.

With what seemed to be a wide variety of choices, we grabbed the first two kinds we saw, which happen to be personal favorites: pepperoni, and shrooms. What attracted me more than anything was the price - $9.99

This is a great bargain for a pizza like this. Mertibo uses first-quality ingredients and knows what to do with them. A favorite complaint of Tom’s about this place was missing. More like two complaints. No ear-splitting noise, which is all he talks about when we are at the restaurant, and the prices which he feels are too high. This very adequately sized pizza for two, at $9.99, is a delightful surprise. The pizza heated very quickly into a crunchy crust with just the right amount of topping.

I am a fan of Meribo, and I like this new option for enjoying what they do. One of the most interesting things to me about the new life we’re living is how adaptable restaurants and diners have been. This expansion into markets makes their product more accessible. I am curious about how it all looks on the other side, but I certainly won’t mind if options like this remain with us.
