Oyster-Artichoke Cream Soup @ Bistro Orleans
This cafe caught my attention one winter afternoon with a sign outside that proclaimed this the soup of the day. It was a minimal restaurant then, but now, with a bigger dining room and kitchen than at the original place, all the food keeps improving. Including this creamy version of the popular soup. It reminds me of the old-style oyster and milk stew restaurants used to serve in West End Park. It's almost too bright a shade of white, but it's not as rich as it looks. On a cold day, you will gobble this up greedily.
